About Ms Claire

Biography

Born and raised in Hong Kong, I have had a strong passion for music and arts since childhood, receiving training and developing skills in various instruments and vocal performance. I have a multicultural background, and I am fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, with basic proficiency in French.

Piano was the first instrument that I began learning at the age of four in kindergarten. At six, I started to learn the clarinet and trumpet, and joined the orchestra led by Wong Tze-kong at Shatin Lui Ming Choi Primary School. By 12, I joined the school choir as a piano accompanist and soprano lead vocalist at Carmel Secondary School.

During secondary school, I was mentored by my piano teacher, Ms Cheung Yuen-yee (a master's graduate from CUHK's Music Department and now a TV drama soundtrack director). I actively joined and won awards in piano and solo singing competition in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival (HKSMF).

I completed my secondary education in Beijing China and pursued a degree in Fashion Design (Womenswear) at ESMOD Paris in France.

After returning to Hong Kong in 2010, I have a decade of experience working in high-end fashion design and product development.

Alongside my fashion career, I taught piano privately while continuing my musical education, eventually earning a piano performance qualification (ARSM).

In 2020, when my child turned two, I completed a QF Level 3 Music Teacher Training Course. Through this program, I connected with experienced music educators and gained deeper insights into age-appropriate teaching methods, laying the foundation for my full-time piano teaching career. Encouraged by my family, I decided to leave the fashion industry and fully commit to music.

Since 2020, I have been teaching piano at Parsons Music and MC Music, offering one-on-one lessons for students aged four and above, focusing on ABRSM exam preparation and HKSMF competition training. That same year I also began conducting group classes for young children, including a certificate course for the eight-note handbell ensemble (1:5 ratio) at MC Music.

個人簡介

於香港長大，從小對音樂及藝術有濃烈興趣，從樂器到聲樂均有不同程度的訓練及發展。 具不同文化背景的我操流利廣東話、普通話、英語及少量法語。

鋼琴 是我由幼稚園四歲開始接觸的第一件樂器。
六歲，於沙田呂明才小學由 王者匡 帶領的管弦樂團下，開始學習單簧管及小號。
十二歲，就讀於迦密中學時加入校隊唱合唱團，擔任鋼琴伴奏及高音領唱。

中學期間受當時鋼琴老師 (中大音樂系碩士，現任電視劇配樂指導 張婉兒 老師) 啓蒙。於2001至2006期間活躍於校際音樂節 (HKSMF) 鋼琴及獨唱比賽，皆有獲獎。

成長的家庭讓我有機會接觸不同地方文化，高中跟隨爸媽前往中國北京完成中學課程，大學於法國巴黎ESMOD完成時裝設計女裝學位。

2010年回港後，我從事高級品牌男、女及童裝時裝設計及產品開發工作近十載直至2019年。面對客戶及需要為每一個生產步驟作編排，需要清晰的表達能力、溝通技巧及按部就班且有效率的執行能力。

2010-2019年業餘期間，我有個別教綬鋼琴及不斷進修音樂，並考取了鋼琴演奏資格。

2020年我小孩剛兩歲，我修讀了資歷架構第3級音樂導師課程。於課程期間，接觸到音樂教育界的前輩、同輩，更深入地認識到適合不同年齡層的音樂教綬法，為日後全職教綬鋼琴奠定了基礎。家人鼓勵下，我決定放棄品牌設計開發工作，全職專注發展音樂事業。

2020年開始於柏斯(Parsons music) 及美斯(MC music) 教綬鋼琴，主要提供一對一，四歲或以上的鋼琴課程，國際認可課程針對考試(ABRSM) 及校際比賽(HKSMF) 教綬；同年開始亦有提供幼兒小組教學，於美斯(MC music) 舉辦一對五小組八音鈴証書課程。
